CONCORD, CALIFORNIA, July 23, 2013 – North American Title Insurance Company (NATIC) announced the appointment of William Fiske as Senior Legal Counsel. Based in NATIC’s corporate offices in Concord, California, Will joins a stellar staff of highly-experienced attorneys adept in resolving complex legal issues quickly and efficiently on behalf of the company and its title agents.
“With his litigation background and knowledge of the title and escrow industry and practices, Will’s addition will add depth to our highly-skilled legal team,” stated Margery Lee, Manager of National Claims and Litigation for NATIC. “Undoubtedly, he will further the claims department’s objective to always provide the best, most accessible and proactive service to our NATIC associates and affiliated companies.”
As a litigator in private practice, Will represented major title underwriters and their insureds, underwritten title companies, banks, private lenders, and commercial real property owners and brokerages. Will’s experience as a litigator in both trial and appellate courts will serve him well as he specializes in providing counsel to NATIC, its independent agencies and associates in a variety of real estate and business matters. In keeping in the tradition of NATIC’s other in-house attorneys, Will understands and accounts for the business concerns of NATIC’s affiliated companies and associates when providing legal advice and recommendations for resolving disputes involving valued customers.
“As outside counsel, I always considered NATIC’s Claims and Litigation Department to be one of the most well-run and best-managed among those title insurers and underwritten title companies that I had the pleasure of representing,” said Will. “I am excited and honored to serve one of the largest title insurance underwriters in the United States and its affiliated companies, particularly as the company continues to innovate and form quality business relationships around the nation.”
After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UCLA, Will received his Juris Doctor with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While in law school, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of a legal journal, was selected for mock trial competitions, and earned a number of academic awards, including the ALI-ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award for his graduating class.
