Holtsberg joins North American National Title Solutions as manager and senior counsel

MIAMI – Aug. 3, 2015 – Philip Holtsberg has joined North American Title as manager and senior counsel for its National Title Solutions (NANTS) department, which handles multistate, multisite transactions for national commercial customers. He also serves as senior underwriting counsel to North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC), North American Title’s affiliated underwriter, where he will assist with underwriting matters for Florida and other commercial customers, as well as educational initiatives for NATIC agents.
“Philip’s longtime involvement and transactional expertise in the real estate industry provides us with additional support and experience in dealing with our national customers,” said John Shafer, director, national commercial division for North American Title Co. “He will focus on underwriting issues and will be an asset to our national commercial division.”
Holtsberg is a Florida Bar Board Certified real estate lawyer. He most recently was a senior attorney with The Ort Law Firm, an Orlando-area boutique firm, practicing real property law, with an emphasis on commercial transactions. He previously worked for seven years with Attorneys’ Title Fund Services LLC, which provides education, marketing support and underwriting to Florida real estate attorneys. Holtsberg served in several capacities, including education manager, forms counsel and senior underwriting counsel.
A graduate of the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree, a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor, Holtsberg was in private practice for 18 years. He then earned a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, where he did basic and applied research, grant writing and teaching. He also served as assistant director for the university’s Gerontology Center and as interim director for the Housing and Demographics Research Center. Holtsberg later returned to private law practice and also offered services as a forensic psychologist.
