Doma was founded in 2016 (then under the name of States Title) to – in its simplest form – make it easier for people to buy a home. Today we are a team of people who are building and using technology to remove the friction and frustration from the real estate closing process. We are architecting a future where buying a home – one of the most emotional and important decisions one can make – becomes an accessible, affordable, transparent, seamless, and secure process for everyone.

As States Title we started off being laser-focused on improving the title and closing process. In 2018 we launched our first core product: an algorithmic, instantaneously underwritten refinance title insurance policy. In 2019 we welcomed North American Title Co. (NATC) and North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) to our family of brands.

At the time of the acquisition, NATC had been providing real estate settlement services across the US for over 65 years, offering customers seamless real estate title insurance and escrow services and delivering Like Clockwork®. NATIC, originally a sister company to NATC, was one of the largest title insurance underwriters in the US.

Today States Title, NATC, and NATIC have rebranded as Doma and continue to offer exceptional, technology-driven real estate closing solutions including title search, title insurance, and escrow services. And, our service delivery ethos remains consistent: we continue to deliver Like Clockwork®.
