MISMO promotes data consistency throughout the broader industry, reduces processing costs, increases transparency, and boosts investor confidence in mortgages as an asset class. MISMO developed minimum standards for how remote online notarization (RON) transactions should be conducted, and MISMO’s RON standards are accepted by the GSEs and have been widely adopted by state legislatures.
