MIAMI – July 8, 2022 – Doma Title Insurance, Inc. (fka North American Title Insurance Company) has tapped Alan Shumate as agency manager for Central and Southern Virginia. In this role, Shumate supports and nurtures Doma’s existing independent title agent and attorney customers and will add to the company’s growing network across key areas of Virginia.
Shumate’s career spans the banking, title insurance, technology services, and sales and marketing industries. He began his career as a special projects coordinator and senior quality analyst for Bank of America. He went on to serve as account manager for ReQuire LLC, regional agency representative for a regional title insurance underwriter and vice president of sales and marketing for RynohLive. He also served as vice president of fiduciary banking at Capital Bank, NA. Prior to joining Doma in 2022, he served as vice president of business development for SLK Global Solutions, a technology service provider for the mortgage, title insurance and banking industries.
“Alan has a diverse array of work experience in our industry, including sales for third-party search vendors, escrow fraud prevention, mortgage lien release tracking and underwriting,” said Jared Uthe, Doma Assistant Vice President and Regional Agency Manager. “His breadth of experience enables him to truly consult agency owners in not only underwriting matters, but in all facets of their business.”
A former U.S. Marine, Shumate earned a degree in Communication Art and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a member of the Virginia Land Title Association.
