Griffin, national sales manager for North American Title Insurance Co., awarded the NTP designation from American Land Title Association

MIAMI – April 6, 2015 – Rich Griffin, national sales manager for North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC), has earned the National Title Professional (NTP) designation from the American Land Title Association.
The ALTA designation is currently held by fewer than 50 individuals out of the more than 5,000 title and settlement agents, title searchers, independent abstractors, real estate attorneys and title insurance companies represented by the national trade association. The NTP has several elements, including industry and compliance prerequisites and training requirements.
“When you think about the parties involved in closing the purchase of a property, it’s interesting that the real estate professionals, attorneys and bankers involved are all certified and accredited,” said Griffin. “Yet the title company representative who handles all the funds in many cases had no way to distinguish himself or herself. The NTP designation fills that void and also represents a career spent trying to advance our industry as well as the perceptions of it.
“I’ve always been a proponent for our industry’s taking steps to professionalize itself and claim its tremendous value,” he added. “In short, the NTP program is something I felt I had to be a part of.”
Joining NATIC in 2014 as the state agency manager for Arizona and Colorado, Griffin has 25 years in lending and title insurance, including owning his own title company in Phoenix for 10 years. He is a certified instructor for the Arizona Department of Real Estate, the Arizona Multiple Listing Service and Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Griffin has taught thousands of real estate agents, loan officers and title professionals over the years, serving as a featured panelist as well as the keynote speaker at national and regional conferences.
